Natural Fibers

Natural fibers refer to fibers extracted from animals or plants, such as cotton, linen, wool, silk, etc. Natural fibers have many advantages, such as renewability, biodegradability, hygroscopicity, breathability, comfort, etc., and therefore are widely used in various industries.

Textiles are the main use of natural fibers. According to statistics from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the global production of natural fibers in 2019 was approximately 33 million tons, of which cotton accounted for approximately 80%, hemp accounted for approximately 10%, and wool accounted for approximately 10%. Accounting for about 5%, silk accounts for about 1%. The applications of natural fibers in the textile industry mainly include clothing, household products, industrial supplies, etc. As consumers become more aware of environmental protection and health, the demand for natural fibers in the textile market is also increasing.
